Citadel Events and HIMSS Strengthen Focus on Healthcare Informatics in UK
Citadel Events, organizers of HEALTH+IN4MATICS 2012, and HIMSS, have formalized their strategic alliance, in place since December 2011, with the two organizations collaborating to provide a strong, integrated platform for health information technology events in the United Kingdom. HIMSS Analytics Europe identifies first EMRAM Stage 7 hospital in Spain
HIMSS Analytics Europe has announced today that the Marina Salud Hospital de Dénia in Spain has achieved Stage 7 of the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM). It is the first hospital in Spain and the second hospital in Europe to achieve the highest rating on HIMSS Analytics’ EMRAM scale, which evaluates the digitization level of a hospital. Stage 7 is awarded for achieving a paperless medical record environment. The Hospital de Dénia will be officially recognised for their achievements at the pan-European eHealth Week 2012 conference in Copenhagen, 7-9 May 2012. (more)

BCS and HIMSS Analytics Europe to collaborate on EMR Adoption Model project

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and HIMSS have signed a memorandum of understanding that will see them collaborating on a project to introduce HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM)SM to the UK. The announcement was made today by Matthew Swindells, Chair of BCS Health, during the opening plenary at HC2012, the annual health informatics conference run by the Institute.

As eligible hospitals and eligible professionals continue receiving their Medicare or Medicaid EHR Incentive payments, the HIMSS State HIT Dashboard now includes information on both programs. The Dashboard, a primary, credible resource for current health IT initiatives in the United States, provides an easy-to-read, interactive map that tracks these activities in a searchable format by state. In Honor of John C Wade, FCHIME, FHIMSS - Former HIMSS Board Chair
Former HIMSS Chair of the HIMSS Board of Directors, John C. Wade, FCHIME, FHIMSS, died on April 28, 2012, at his home in Overland Park, Kan., a suburb of Kansas City, Mo. Wade served as HIMSS Board Chair from July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2008. (more)
